Since we know A LOT of people have strong opinions about whiskey, we’re going to be up front and let you know what we considered when coming up with this list.
- Sippability. When we’re camping, we need a whiskey that can be sipped straight or poured neat. No ice. No mixers. No water. Something that goes down smooth from a camp glass or straight out of the bottle and straight to our lips.
- Price Point. We’re saving our nicest bottles for the house with a good glass, fancy ice, and craft made bitters. However, when we’re camping we need something that is affordable, can be bought at almost any location, and doesn’t break the bank when traveling.
- Unpretentious. See numbers 1 and 2. When we’re camping we want to be relaxed enough to enjoy the moment. For us that’s a comfortable chair, a nice fire, and good conversation with friends and family. Anything that takes away from that is not something we’re interested in when camping.
These 3 things are what we used to make our list. It doesn’t make them right or make them wrong.
At the end of the day, drink what you like how, how you like, where you like. You don’t need some stuffy internet blog telling you what we drink is better than what you drink. These are just some of our favorites that we thought were worth sharing. Shoot us a message and let us know what you like. You never know, it may end up on a future list!
We recommend buying all of these options at a local store as they will be able to give you better, more contextual recommendations on their favorites. However, we have linked to the manufacturer’s website to give you a spot to read more about our recommendations.
