Main Street Chocolates is a true family passion, led by Jerry and Kay Moore and their four children, blending two decades of sweet-making with a deep love for Clayton and the joy of connecting with their community.
Nestled in one of the smallest buildings on Main Street, trust us, it’s where our shop used to be, you’ll find Main Street Chocolates. This quaint little chocolate shop has quickly become a family favorite spot to treat your taste buds, and at the heart of it all is Jerry, a talented chocolatier working to perfect his craft.
Jerry and his family opened the doors to Main Street Chocolates here in Clayton nearly two years ago, but he has been in the chocolate business since 2004. Prior to opening Main Street Chocolates, he ran a well-known chocolatier up the street in Highlands, but wanted to venture out and find his own niche in the chocolate-crafting world.
When you walk through the door, you’re immediately greeted with the pleasing aroma of various chocolates, candies, and other miscellaneous sweets, as well as a warm hello from Jerry himself or one of his family members. It’s immediately apparent that the entire family is integral to this operation as you watch them hustle to serve their customers. Jerry can often be seen directly behind the counter mixing, tempering, and crafting some incredible masterpieces, while his wife, Kay, scoops ice cream or rings up customers.
Jerry says that their absolute favorite part of the chocolate business is seeing the smiles and joy brought to folks’ faces from his handcrafted sweets. When a family strolls in after dinner looking to fulfill that sweet tooth craving, he knows that he’s got a chance to make an impression, and he puts in the effort to make sure that each piece they create leaves a lasting memory.
Above all else, Jerry says that he wants to create a space for the community to spend time and make memories. He holds his community close and has been incredibly grateful for the connections they have already made, and looks forward to new opportunities each day.
